Plot Summary
Igraine is your average 12-year-old girl growing up in a magic castle. The gargoyles on the castle walls and the stone lions at the gate guard their home. Her parents and perfect older brother are renowned magicians, while their incredible singing books of magic aid them in performing spells. And Igraine wants nothing to do with the magic: much to her family’s dismay, she has dreams of becoming a brave knight.
Igraine might finally get the chance to prove her bravery and assert her honor when Pimpernel castle is besieged by Osmund the Greedy (or the Magnificent, depending on who’s talking). He has a despicable plot to overthrow Igraine’s parents and steal their singing books of magic. And to make matters even worse, her parents are a bit of a mess due to a tragic magic accident. They’ve turned themselves into pigs.
Mustering her courage, Igraine sets off with her beloved talking cat Sisyphus and a borrowed horse named Lancelot to find the giant’s hairs that will transform her parents back into humans. But meanwhile, Osmund and his forces are trying to break into the castle, and Igraine’s brother can only hold them off for so long. She must seek the help of a certain knight who has waited a long time for this moment, and together they must find their bravery in order to set things right once more.
