“Oh, here’s a clever one. Do you remember this question from the first test? It reads, ‘What’s wrong with this statement?’ And do you know what Constance wrote in reply? She wrote, ‘What’s wrong with you?”

Plot Summary

When four very special children respond to an ad in the newspaper for "gifted children looking for special opportunities", they unknowingly enter into a thrilling and frightening adventure. Mr. Nicholas Benedict sends them on a mission to investigate the Learning Institute for the Very Enlightened, run by the nefarious Mr. Curtain--a man with mysterious motives and an even more mysterious, threatening-looking machine. Brave and clever Reynie, brilliant Sticky, stubborn Constance and daredevil Kate must keep up the charade and foil Mr. Curtain's dastardly plans before it's too late.

In The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey, Mr. Benedict is missing. While putting together a mind-boggling scavenger hunt for the exceptional foursome, he unknowingly walks right into a trap set by Mr. Curtain. Suddenly, the hunt isn't a fun adventure anymore--it's a matter of solving Mr. Benedict's puzzles to follow his trail and bring him home.

In the conclusion to the trilogy, The Mysterious Benedict Society and The Prisoner's Dilemma, the four children attempt to unravel Constance's past. In the process, they find themselves uncovering a nefarious plot by (who else?) Mr. Curtain. When Reynie, Sticky, Kate and Constance are kidnapped by Mr. Curtain and his Executives, their rescue depends on Constance's use of her newfound gifts.

In The Extraordinary Education of Nicholas Benedict, the brilliant prequel to the Mysterious Benedict Society series, a young Nicholas Benedict embarks on his own adventures. Nine-year-old Nicholas may seem like an easy target, but he's brilliant and resourceful. Apparently a combination of his four future charges' skills, Nicholas must use every trick up his sleeve when he's sent to a new orphanage with bullies, a legendary treasure and a mysterious caretaker.
